ABOUT BC LOONS AND OWLS PHOTO WORKSHOP
This workshop is timed for when both Common Loons and Great Grey Owls are raising their young. We will have four mornings photographing Loons with their chicks from boats and 4 afternoons photographing Great Grey Owls – likely with their young. We will be spending four nights at a lake side resort. In addition to Loons and Great Grey Owls, this is a good area for Woodpeckers, Mountain Bluebirds, Grebes and Waterfowl but our main photography targets will be the Loons and Great Grey Owls with their young. This tour can be combined with our Orcas and Eagles Photo Workshop which is based in Seattle and starts June 17th.

Itinerary
June 10th – Arrival to Vancouver airport, transfer to a nice hotel. Evening presentation on bird and wildlife photography by Ken Archer.
June 11th – This morning we will visit Reifel Refuge to photograph Wood Ducks and other waterbirds and songbirds such as Spotted Towhee. Then we will check out and drive 3-4 hours to the interior of British Columbia. We will check into our hotel and then have our first Great Grey Owl photography session in the afternoon. A nice lodge on the loon lake.
June 12th to 14th – Each morning we will be out on the lake photographing Loons and their chicks. Our trip is timed to hopefully coincide with the time chicks are being carried on the backs of the adults. Each afternoon we will photograph Great Grey Owls, at this time of year there’s a good chance we will find them with owlets either still in the nest or just recently fledged. Of course we will also photograph whatever other birds and wildlife we encounter. A nice lodge on the loon lake.
June 15th – One more morning of photographing Loons with their young then we will check out and return to the Vancouver area. We will have an afternoon session at Reifel Refuge. Nice hotel near the airport.
June 16th – Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
